Exploring Guernsey

Guernsey is a very beautiful, very hilly place to jog. On Wednesday we jogged through the town streets and today we took to the cliff trail. I thought of Zachary running cross country the whole way- he would have really liked that cliff trail.

Wednesday was our first ‘rainy day,’ and it only rained for about three hours.

So after a relaxing morning on Gerty, we went for a long walk to see the historic ocean side pools, one of the many forts, the aquarium, the cliff trail, and Candie gardens (which to my disappointment did not grow candy.)  And of course the sailing school pool!

  1. My wife (Joan) and I sail out of Miami. We’ve spoken with Ryan Helling at Swiftsure about the 45.9. We were hoping it sailed well and reading your reports, it performed better than we would have expected. Although we currently enjoy our Alerion 38, we’re looking forward to venturing out of Biscayne Bay and were hoping to do so in a shallow draft low maintainence sloop. We plan to visit the factory thru the Swiftsure rep in that area and at this point would greatly appreciate any information you could share with us about the Allures experience as a boat builder. Thank you, Jim Harris
