Sister Time

Isn’t it funny how you think you’re so different from your siblings, until you play a board game together?

My sister, Bonnie, took three planes and a taxi to meet up with us in Slano, Croatia, and that was just the beginning of her journey.  In little to no wind, we put-putted Gerty around the Dalmation Coast to four never-ending-summer harbors: Uvala Spilice (Otok Brač), Šipanska Luka (Otok Šipan), Prožura (Mljet), and Polače (Mljet).  And per her request, we even squeezed in an afternoon sea breeze sail to nowhere.

Then us girls left the wilderness and the Captain behind to explore the Dubrovnik Old Town.  We went up, way up, down, and all around filling our senses with the sites and sounds of history, culture, and of course, shopping.

Fortunately, Bonnie was forthcoming about her addiction right from the start.

“I have a disease,” she said, “I can’t stop taking pictures.”

And so it was decided, right then and there. She would be our guest photo blogger.

Lest we forget the rustle of a barely there Croatian cat changing positions in the sun, the evening chorus of chirping cicadas, the roar of the dinghy motor as we raced to catch the sunset on the other side of the mountain, the wind’s music on the bridge between Malo Jezero and Veliko Jezero, and the sound of La Vie en Rose echoing off the walls of the Rector’s Palace, her photos will remind us!
