Last Remarks
As of August 2023, Gerty has been sold. We are wishing Claes & Pernilla the fairest winds!
Gerty was listed with Swiftsure Yachts. Our personal listing comments are below:
In June 2020, we anchored Gerty, our Allures 45.9, behind the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor. We put our cushioned chairs on her deck and watched The Empire State Building’s red heartbeat light pulse. Where could we sail her that would be better than this? I thought. Twenty thousand nautical miles later, my answer is nowhere and everywhere because Gerty makes every place our home.
She’s safe, elegant, spacious, swift, and above all, simple. Like all Allures 45.9s, her lifting centerboard design gives us the flexibility to anchor in the calmest shallows. In contrast, her aluminum hull and dependable rig allow us to slice through the roughest seas. What makes Gerty unique is her light, bright, customized interior. Gerty’s galley and tech room maximize functionality and space, making living easy. So there’s more time left for entertaining up to twelve comfortably in her roomy cockpit or relaxing, just us two.
Wonderful tribute… she should only know the joy she has brought to your lives. It’s a bit like thinking back to when your kids were very young and every day brought new fun and laughter.
May you find new Gerty equally or more rewarding and may she safely speed you to places yet unknown.
Gill, you are a poet, curious to see your new ship….
